What is the average Diamond Carrot size for an engagement ring?
Im looking int engagement rings and i have no idea what im looking for. We have talked and she wants something that is simple and elegant so im going with a white gold band with a single diamond. But what size diamond? I guess what im getting at is what is the average carrot size for an engagement ring?

first of all its karat. Secondly, 1 karat is sufficient and standard, but when it comes to price, you could a 3 kt diamond for what some 1 kt diamonds cost. It all depends on the quality of the stone and its cut.

Hi Bill. First of all, the term is “Carat”, not “Carrot”, “Karat” or “Karrot”. Carat refers to the weight/size of a diamond, and Karat refers to the purity of precious metals.
OK, assuming you are talking about a single round brilliant cut diamond, then the typical standard int he UK is anywhere from 0.25ct to 0.75ct. If you’ve got more budget, then look for around 1.00ct which is the magic mark, although expect to pay in excess of £3,000 for your white gold engagement ring.
