Is this engagement ring a resonable purchase?
My fiance and I are looking to upgrade my engagement ring. We've been engaged for over 5 years and are planning on waiting a few more years. I found a ring that I really like. Taking into account the Four C's, the price, and the fact that it's a Princess Cut, is this a good buy? I want to buy a ring that will be worth the price. In other words, the quality must be equal or exceed the price. If not, I'll know to keep looking.

I think it's very pretty and a truly great buy- very good price. If you are still on the fence, I always recommend bluenile.com, just as a suggestion, but I really think the ring you've picked out looks like great quality for the price.

that is a GORGEOUS ring i love the 3 stone rings! and that is a killer good price. i wish mine was only that much! i love the princess cut diamonds, they are my favorite! if you want a new ring you deserve one ha ha! congrats on the engagement even though it has been a long time! i dont think i could wait that long!
i dont know how the quality is, i would go look at the ring in person or talk to the company! just so you know it is a flawless diamond!

The four C’s aren’t always a perfect measure. Certain diamonds are better than others, but what’s bringing the price down is the size and clarity. Overall, it’s a decent purchase, but then I have no knowledge of the jeweller or where the diamond has come from.
It’s also best to make sure your diamonds come with a certificate of authenticity. Without this, you cannot be sure of what you’re getting. And make sure the certificate comes from a reputable organisation.

now in regards to its quality (colour and clarity) it is poor…
BUT
for this price i would call it fair and very reasonable, although i would see if it comes with an authenticity cerficiate just to be sure.
If you would like to know why the colour is not very good it is because the best colour is D and this one is H-I which means the diamond will show a relative amount of yellow.
The clarity is not very good because it is the second worse you can get, which means the inclusions will be visible and affect the diamonds brilliance. What you should know though, is at this price i believe it is reasonable and a good deal.
To give you an example (after thorough research) my princess cut diamond ring at its best value in the industry i found is a 1.2 carat, D colour, SI1 is $ 10000au …. which is approx $ 6500us…
so yeah to get a fabulous quality is VERY pricey, but the difference is very noticeable.
So in conclusion, for your budget and that price i think it is fantastic. Just thought id give you a little bit of education about diamonds lol
