I’m looking for different, not-so-typical engagement ring. Any suggestions? Places to look?
I am soon-to-be engaged and have been on the search for the “perfect” ring. I’m not much of a jewelry person, so I’m looking for something small, yet I still want it to look like an engagement ring. I’m looking for something simple, yet elegant; modern, yet classic. I’m not completely sure where to look especially since retailers like Kay and Zales have let me down. Any suggestions?
I should add that I love swirl details. I found one at Kay that I’m fairly happy with (http://www.kay.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product1|10101|10001|-1|990431506|15051|15051.15057.15107) but it isn’t completely me. Also, my boyfriend and I are definitely on a budget. :)

if you go to any place in the mall, they are all gonna have about the same things i worked at a store for 3 years in the mall…. look online and in pawn shops to find a vintage piece, no one will have that!
Pawnshops!! They have unique hard to find rings old and new
All gold is “used” even the stuff in Zales
You can save up to 90% off retail and find something great!
You can also try antique stores
Jared has a nice web site.

Try there, they have great vintage looking styles
why not try looking at vintage rings? A nice old set may be just what you’re looking for. They will certainly be unique.
Just keep looking! I went to A LOT of stores before finding one that I wanted. I went to every one in my city and found nothing. We looked in my uncles city a couple hours away and I found “the one” at one of the same retail stores that I had visited in my own city….they just didn’t carry it at the store by me.
Good luck!

Although they’re a chain, Shane Co. sometimes has unique-looking rings. Another option is to get rings custom made, so they will be truly one of a kind.
ok these site might be a little pricey but they are just amazing..
the second one makes the most unique rings I’ve ever seen..
good luck :)

I would do my research with one of the professional online jewelers. You can find better quality rings, better prices for diamonds and better policies with one of the more reputable online retailers like http://www.jamesallen.com/ or http://www.diamond.com
Buying at one of the online engagement rings and diamond retailers would probably save you 20%-30% in price for the same quality at mall jeweler.
Most online retailers also give 30 day inspection period and money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. James Allen also has real diamond images of the diamonds so you can see what you are getting before actually making the purchase.
