Are diamond cluster engagement rings still in style?

While I love the glassy look of emerald cuts and baguettes. I'm not that crazy about diamonds to be honest. I wear lots of different color jewelry. So a color stone is out of the question.

I prefer diamonds as accents and broken up as clusters over a single larger stone. So that's why I'm thinking a diamond cluster or eternity band. I want something elegant and classy. Any other setting suggestions?
